Biographical Information[edit]

Robert Kovačević pitched for the Croatian national team in the 1999 European Championship, allowing 5 hits, 3 walks and 7 runs (5 earned) in 1 1/3 IP, striking out one; only Goran Strelec had a higher ERA for the Croatian team. In the 2003 European Championship, he played one game in right field, going 0 for 4 with three strikeouts and a run against Great Britain while handling six putouts. He was 0 for 3 in the 2005 European Championship and gave up 3 runs (2 earned) in one inning. He was MVP of the Croatian League in 2010. He coached the Croatian national women's softball team and has coached in Germany's softball Bundesliga.
