Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Rob Zimmermann was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 14th round of the 2000 amateur draft, but headed on to college. As a freshman and sophomore, he established the career saves mark at Southwest Missouri State University. As a junior he moved into the rotation and helped the school to the 2003 College World Series, the first ever appearance for the school.

Zimmermann was drafted by the Anaheim Angels in the 4th round of the 2003 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Brian Bridges and made his pro debut that summer.
