Biographical Information[edit]

Rick Smith won over 500 games as a college coach.

Smith was picked in the 5th round of the January 1973 draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. He was an assistant coach at Stonehill College (1983-1989) and Bridgewater State University (1990-1993). In 1994, he became head coach of Bridgewater State, going 550-375-5 in 25 years to set a school record for wins. He took Bridgewater State to both the 1996 Division III College World Series and 1997 Division III College World Series. He retired after the 2018 season.
