Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Richard Palmer was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 17th round of the 1978 amateur draft out of West Covina High School where he had been teammates with Tom Brunansky. He made his professional debut the following year with the Utica Blue Jays where he saw action in twenty games. He moved up to the Kinston Eagles where he played in eight contests. For the season, he hit .258 with four doubles, a triple and eleven runs batted in. His seventeen walks helped boost his on-base percentage to .400.
