Biographical Information

Pitcher Rich Ireland was the Florida Marlins third round pick in the 1992 amateur draft, being taken after pitcher Roger Bailey. Beginning his professional career at 17 years old, Ireland went 4-3 with a 4.57 ERA in 43 1/3 innings for the GCL Marlins in 1992 and 1-2, 3.12 in 26 innings with the same club in 1993 to wrap up his career. He was 5-5 with a 4.02 mark overall.
