Biographical Information[edit]

Rich Chiles saw action in six big league seasons. Originally a bit player with the Houston Astros and New York Mets, the overwhelming majority of his heavy lifting was done with the Minnesota Twins, appearing in 195 games between 1977 and 1978, hitting .266. The cousin of Ren and George "Highpockets" Kelly, Rich was an assistant coach for the University of California, Davis Aggies in 1988 and a hitting coach for the Carolina Mudcats in 1992.

In addition to coaching, Chiles scouted for the San Diego Padres in 1989-1991 and the Milwaukee Brewers in 1998.
