Biographical Information[edit]

Rich Beck enjoyed two weeks in the big leagues with the New York Yankees in 1965. In his second of three career starts, he pitched a complete game shutout against the Detroit Tigers with zero strikeouts, nine hits and five walks (as well as three double plays turned behind him) in a 2-0 victory. Overall, he was 2-1, 2.14 with 7 walks and 10 strikeouts in 22 innings. He was unable to crack the Yanks rotation the next spring and kicked around the minors until 1969.
