Biographical Information[edit]

Relief pitcher Ricardo Gomez began his professional career in 1997.

He spent two years in the Pittsburgh Pirates system before missing 1999. In 2000, he joined the New York Yankees system, posting a 1.76 ERA in 20 games for the Staten Island Yankees. After a mediocre 2001, he departed their organization. After not playing professionally from 2002 to 2006 (as far as Baseball Reference's records indicate), the hurler joined the Charlotte County Redfish of the independent South Coast League in 2007. He played in indy ball through 2012, posting ERAs of 2.13 and 2.66 for the York Revolution his final two years at that level. In 2012, he had 17 saves. In 2013, he joined the Rojos del Aguila de Veracruz of the Mexican League, posting a 1.71 ERA and saving 24 games, while striking out 83 batters in 58 innings.
