René Mazzocchi was 5-5 with a 3.41 ERA in Serie A2 in 2009 with 120 whiffs but 53 walks in 89 2/3 innings. He signed with Fortitudo Bologna for 2010. He got one start in the 2010 European Cup's Brno phase, shutting out the Rouen Huskies in six innings with seven whiffs, seven hits and two walks before leaving; he got the win.
