Reinier Yero won a home run title in Cuba.

In the 2001-2002 Serie Nacional finals, he pinch-hit in the 9th inning of game seven. With two out and one on, he doubled off Orelvis Avila. Liván Monteagudo singled Yero to third and closed the game to 2-1, but Yero was stranded there as Frederich Cepeda struck out. He hit .301/.454/.607 with 16 dingers in 2002-2003.

In 2003-2004, he led the Serie Nacional with 19 home runs and 97 strikeouts for Sancti Spíritus. He also went deep in the Cuban All-Star Game. Through 2004-2005, he had batted .250/.379/.426 in 1,508 career plate appearances over 10 seasons. A catcher, he had fielded .978 and allowed 62 steals in 111 tries.

By 2005-2006, though, he was backing up both Eriel Sánchez and Yoani Delgado, hitting .301/.438/.602 in a part-time role. Just three seasons removed from his big year, he bombed in 2006-2007, going 9 for 66 with 10 walks, 3 doubles, a triple and two home runs. He rebounded to .302/.436/.540 in a bench role in 2007-2008. That was his final season, though.
