Biographical Information[edit]

Havens was drafted by the New York Mets in the 1st round of the 2008 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Marlin McPhail for $1.419 million and began his pro career that summer. Limited by injuries, Havens has played only 213 minor league games in his first four minor league seasons. Ranked a top prospect in the Mets system at one point, he retired after 2013, playing just 38 games at Triple-A and never reaching the majors.
