Biographical Information[edit]
Walter "Red" Torphy was in three games with the 1920 Boston Braves. He also played 17 seasons in the minors, pretty much all in the Northeast.
Fall River, MA produced quite a few baseball players for a while. Philip Silvia edited a book about it called Greater Fall River Baseball: Twenty Five Major Leaguers in One Hundred Years. However, in the year 1920, Red was the only major leaguer from Fall River.
