Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Ray Roman played in the minor leagues from 1984 to 1988. He was taken by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 28th round of the 1984 amateur draft, a couple of picks ahead of pitcher Dave Haas.

He hit .222/.288/.329 in his career. Perhaps his best campaign was 1985, when he hit .229/.310/.368 with 10 home runs and 39 RBI in 102 games between the Peninsula Pilots and Clearwater Phillies.

In 1987 and 1988, he briefly played at Triple-A.

He died from lymphoma.
