Biographical Information[edit]
Ray Robinson was an author. His baseball works include: Iron Horse: Lou Gehrig in His Time (1990); Greats of the Game: The Players, Games, Teams, and Managers That Made Baseball History (2005) (with Christopher Jennison); Matty: An American Hero: Christy Mathewson of the New York Giants (1993); Yankee Stadium: 75 Years of Drama, Glamor, and Glory (1998) (with Jennison); Pennants and Pinstripes: The New York Yankees 1903-2002 (2002) (with Jennison); and The Home Run Heard 'Round the World: The Dramatic Story of the 1951 Giants-Dodgers Pennant Race (1991). In addition, he edited more than a dozen editions of Baseball Stars and wrote articles for The New York Times.
He was also an editor for magazines Seventeen and Good Housekeeping. He served in the Unites States Army during World War II.
