Biographical Information[edit]
Ray Goolsby played in the Florida State League during the war and went into the Army after the 1941 season. In 1946, straight back from the service, he was given a chance with the Washington Senators and had an impressive spring training, but only appeared in four regular season games without a hit.
Ray also played for Chattanooga in 1946, hitting .306 in 99 games. It was his last year in organized baseball, however
According to the book Textile League Baseball, he played in the Central Carolina League.
