Ray was formerly located in the copper mining region of central Arizona, 10 miles north of Kearny, AZ, but the town was shut down in 1958 and the population relocated to Kearny when the local open pit mine expanded to take over the village's former location. It is now a ghost town. Dan Graham was born here.
