Biographical Information

Raul Shah has played in the independent leagues and for the British national team.

Shah hit .373 as a high school senior. He was 5 for 20 with two walks as a college freshman, then hit .287/.361/.389 as a sophomore, .272/.326/.358 as a junior and .250/.304/.250 as a senior. He was 0 for 6 in the 2019 Canadian-American Association.

In 2021, he hit .350/.454/.527 with 66 RBI in 86 games for the Ogden Raptors in a high-offense Pioneer League. Moving to the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs the next year, he slumped to .229/.309/.335 and fielded .969. Having been born in Britain, he joined the British squad for the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. He got into one game, taking over at second base late against Spain after Kent Blackstone had been lifted for a pinch-hitter. He did not get to bat but caught a liner to end the top of the 10th then Britain won in the bottom half to lock up a spot in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
