Randy Marshall was a minor league first baseman for three years.
Marshall was picked by the Texas Rangers in the ninth round of the 1989 amateur draft; another Randy Marshall also turned pro that year, and despite being undrafted, lasted even longer and advanced farther than this Randy Marshall.
Randy Marshall hit .267/.351/.407 in his pro debut with the Butte Copper Kings. In 1990, he batted .249/.339/.397 with 12 homers and 62 RBI for the Gastonia Rangers. He split 1991 between Gastonia (.225/.323/.306 in 40 G) and the Charlotte Rangers (.223/.326/.273 in 77 G). Overall, he had batted .243/.336/.357 in three pro seasons.
