Biographical Information[edit]

Randy Christal has been a long-time umpire. He worked in the 1984 ALCS, the highlight of his pro career, when the regular umpires walked out just before the start of the series as part of a job action.

As a college umpire, he worked the 1978 College World Series, 1979 College World Series, 1980 NAIA College World Series, 1981 NAIA College World Series, 1982 College World Series, 1983 College World Series, 1986 College World Series, 1987 College World Series, 1990 College World Series and 1996 College World Series. In addition, he worked the 1984 Olympics. As a football referee, he worked both the 1996 Rose Bowl and 1997 Sugar Bowl. He was inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame.
