Biographical Information

Ralph Birkofer pitched five seasons in the big leagues, seeing fairly regular action with the Pittsburgh Pirates in three of them. In 1934, he was 11-12 with a 4.10 ERA, 11 complete games and a save for the Bucs. He had two sons who played minor league ball: Jim and Ralph Jr. Ralph Jr.'s son, Kevin, also played pro ball.
