Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Ralph Beard played in the Boston Braves organization in 1949 and 1950, hitting .261 with three home runs in 118 games.

He also played college basketball, playing in the 1948 Olympics. He spent two seasons in the National Basketball Association, but was banned after the 1951 season for admitting to point shaving while in college.

He was inducted into the Kentucky Hall of Fame in 1985.
