Biographical Information[edit]
Raúl Vives pitched for the Puerto Rican national team in the 1967 Pan American Games, when they won the Bronze Medal. He signed with the New York Mets. In 1968, he was 4-1 with a 2.68 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 47 innings for the Marion Mets. He tied for the Appalachian League lead with two shutouts. In '69, he was 5-0 with a save and a 2.75 ERA for the Pompano Beach Mets. He thus finished his pro career at 9-1, 2.71 with 83 K in 83 IP.
