Pittsburgh Chronicle-Telegraph
The Pittsburgh Chronicle-Telegraph was a newspaper based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was founded in the 19th century. Following the First World War, the Chronicle-Telegraph was one of five remaining newspapers in the city along with The Gazette Times, the Post, The Press, and the Sun. In 1927, William Randolph Hearst purchased the Chronicle-Telegraph and The Gazette Times, and merged the papers into the morning Gazette-Times and evening Sun Telegraph. Sportswriters for the paper included Havey J. Boyle (1916–1927), Julius Lewis and Alfred R. Cratty, who was a special editor for the paper from 1885 to 1906.
