Ballpark: Exposition Park III (April 19-October 4, 1890)

The Pittsburgh Burghers were Pittsburgh's entry in the upstart Players League in 1890 and called Exposition Park home. The team's lineup featured many players who had jumped from the Pittsburgh Alleghenys of the National League following the 1889 season, including a trio of future Hall of Famers: first baseman Jake Beckley, outfielder Ned Hanlon, and pitcher Pud Galvin. Despite these talented players, the club, which was managed by Hanlon, went 60-68 to finish sixth in the eight-team circuit.

After one season, the Players League ceased operations, and the Burghers merged with the NL's Alleghenys. The club, now known as the Pirates, moved into the Burgher's former home, Exposition Park, which they would call home until 1909.
