Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Phil Stockman won a silver medal as a member of the Australian team at the 2004 Olympics. He allowed two runs in four innings for the Aussies in the 2005 Baseball World Cup, tying for the team lead with four appearances. He made his big league debut with the Atlanta Braves in 2006, giving up only 1 earned run in 4 innings of work. Stockman made one more trip to the majors, pitching 7 1/3 scoreless innings for the Braves in 2008.
Stockman was born in England but grew up in Australia. He played 10 seasons in the minors, all with two organizations, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Atlanta Braves. His lifetime record in the minors was 36-30 with 9 saves.
Stockman was a coach for the Brisbane Bandits in the 2015-2016 season.
