Biographical Information

Phil Leftwich was the first pick in Radford University history, going in the second round of the 1990 amateur draft. He would remain the highest Radford pick for 22 years, before Eddie Butler went in the supplemental 1st round in 2012.

Leftwich married the daughter of former major league pitcher Tom Timmermann; his son, Luke Leftwich, was drafted in the 7th round of the 2015 amateur draft by the Philadelphia Phillies.
