Biographical Information[edit]
Peter van 't Klooster played in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. He was an infielder for the Dutch national team that won the 1964 European Championship, 1966 Haarlem Baseball Week and 1969 Haarlem Baseball Week. He played for HVA, ABC and HCK in the top Dutch league from 1964-1972. He nearly won the batting title in 1968 at .414; a late recalculation for Hamilton Richardson left him .001 short. His son Dirk van 't Klooster later became one of the league's top stars. Peter was one of six finalists to be the first Dutch astronaut in 1977; he was a long-time physics and astronomy. In 1996, he was hitting coach for Quick Amersfoort. In 2009, he was hitting coach for RCH. When they were relegated out of the Hoofdklasse following the season, he took over the head coach's role. He also served on the board of the Royal Netherlands Baseball and Softball Association.
