Biographical Information

Pitcher Peter Lambert was outstanding in his major league debut for the Colorado Rockies facing the Chicago Cubs in an afternoon game at Wrigley Field on June 6, 2019. He started the game and pitched 7 innings, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 9 as the Rockies won, 3-1. He baffled the Cubs with a variety of off-speed pitches while setting a team record for strikeouts by a pitcher in his debut. He also hit a single in his first at-bat, against José Quintana.

He was selected by the Rockies in the 2nd round of the 2015 amateur draft, with the 44th overall pick. His brother Jimmy Lambert reached the majors in 2020.
