Peter Hondius played and coached in the Netherlands. His parents Paul Hondius and Olga Hondius were both softball players and coaches. Seven of his siblings played either baseball or softball or were umpires. His brother-in-law Jerry Lowe was an American who pitched in the Netherlands.
Peter played for OVVO, debuting in the Hoofdklasse in 1976. He returned in 1985 as an outfielder for OVVO. The team fell back out of the Hoofdklasse but he returned with them in 1988. He later played softball and was head coach of the TIW-Survivors men's softball team. He coached for the Netherlands mens' softball team from 2001-2004. He also coached youth baseball.
