Biographical Information

Outfielder Peter Austin was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 40th round of the 1997 amateur draft. He played in the Pirates' system that year, hitting .227/.297/.258 with no home runs and seven RBI for the GCL Pirates (.245/.293/.283 in 17 G) and Erie Sea Wolves (2 for 13, BB). He scored 4 runs and stole 2 bases in 5 tries. He made no errors in 36 chances and would not play another season.
