Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Pete Spasoff played in the minor leagues from 1951 to 1952 and from 1955 to 1958. He pitched as high as the Open level, if only for a game (1956).

He began his career with a 4-7 record and 3.00 ERA in 14 games in 1951, allowing just 66 hits in 93 innings, while walking 78 batters. After a mediocre 1952, he was taken by the Macon Peaches of the Chicago Cubs system in the 1952 Rule V draft. His obituary states he served in the United States Army, and it can be assumed it was during the Korean War -- hence, he did not play in 1953 and 1954. He returned to pro ball in 1955 and, in his first year back, tossed a no-hitter against the Savannah Athletics on April 30, winning 4-0.

Overall, he went 26-41 in 119 games over 6 seasons.
