Biographical Information

Pete Smith was a longtime scout, beginning his career with the Houston Colt .45s in 1962. He moved to the New York Mets in 1970 and won the Turk Karam Award in 1988 (or 1987, per his obituary).

He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957.
