Biographical Information[edit]
It was long thought that Pete O'Brien had only played for the Chicago Colts in 1890. However, research conducted by Peter Morris of SABR in 2008 confirmed that the playing record originally attributed to Jerry O'Brien with the Washington Nationals in 1887 also belongs to him. He was an amateur player in Chicago who was called up twice to fill short-term holes with National League clubs. After his playing career, he worked as a clerk for the city of Chicago.
