Biographical Information

Pete Fahrer pitched five games for the 1914 Cincinnati Reds, posting an ERA of 1.12. He had by far the lowest ERA on the team.

Fahrer also went 14-6 for Dayton in 1914.

Baseball Digest, as part of its attempt to locate "lost" players, reported on Fahrer in its July 1962 issue. He was a spitballer who hit well enough that he was sometimes used as a pinch-hitter. His minor league career was from 1910-15, and in 1914, while with the Dayton team which would go on to win its league pennant, he pitched six innings of no-hit exhibition ball against the Reds, who signed him. After baseball he became a farmer. The Baseball Digest reader who notified Baseball Digest about Fahrer said that he had played semi-pro ball with Fahrer in 1930.
