Pete DeFlesco
Peter Caleb DeFlesco
Pete DeFlesco umpired one American League game as a fill-in umpire in 1991. It came on Opening Day, after the regular umpires had struck in spring training. The conflict was resolved before the regular season, but the umpiring crew designated to work the game between the Chicago White Sox and the Baltimore Orioles on April 8th had not made it to Baltimore, MD for the start of the game, forcing the use of substitute umpires.
He had begun umpiring in the minor leagues in the Appalachian League in 1981, moved to the South Atlantic League in 1982 and the Carolina League in 1983. In 1986, he came back as an umpire in the California League.
