Petar Petrov has played for Bulgaria's Buffaloes Blagoevgrad club. In the 2008 European Championship Qualifier, he was the shortstop for the Bulgarian national team. He hit .313/.353/.313 with 4 runs in 4 games, fielding .950. In the 2011 European Championship Qualifier in Zagreb, Petrov was named Best Batter after going 8 for 15 with 3 doubles, 2 RBI, 2 walks and two steals in two tries. Bulgaria failed to advance to the 2012 European Championship as they fell to Croatia in the finals.
