Biographical Information

Pitcher Pedro Rodriguez began his professional career in 2005 at 17 years old.

In the Boston Red Sox system in 2005 and 2006, Rodriguez posted a 1.99 ERA in 19 games (one start) for the DSL Red Sox the latter campaign. He then did not play in 2007 and 2008, though he returned with the Caribes de Anzoategui of the Venezuelan Winter League in 2009, posting a 2.31 ERA in 28 relief appearances. After not playing again in 2010, Rodriguez returned to the Caribes in 2011 and had a 2.43 mark in 24 games. He joined the Mexican League in 2012 and struggled. After just playing winter ball in 2013, he returned to the Mexican League for 2014 and had a 2.92 ERA in 50 games for the Pericos de Puebla. With the Caribes that winter, he had a 0.53 mark in 33 games. His performance earned him a contract with the San Francisco Giants, in whose system he pitched in 2015. Between the AZL Giants and Richmond Flying Squirrels, Rodriguez had a 2.14 ERA in 38 games.
