Martin Luther King Magnet School

Martin Luther King Magnet at Pearl High School is located in Nashville, TN. It was founded in 1890 as Pearl High School, the first high school for African-Americans in Nashville and one of the first in Tennessee; its student body was integrated starting in the late 1960s. It changed to its present name in 1986, when it began to focus on teaching excellence in the areas of health sciences and engineering.
