Biographical Information[edit]

Patrick McCarthy has been a college coach.

McCarthy was a catcher in college. He was assistant coach at Freed-Hardeman University, his alma mater, from 2001-2004, then was head coach from 2005-2009. He was 158-108 as head coach of Freed-Hardeman. He then moved to Faulkner University and went 39-21 in 2010, finishing 16th in the NAIA rankings. His club improved on that the next year, starting 48-13 and making it to the 2011 NAIA College World Series, the school's first-ever appearance in that event. The school returned to the CWS in 2013, winning the event the second time around.
