Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman Pat Wright had an unremarkable minor league career -- except for one campaign. In 1930, with the Fort Wayne Chiefs of the Central League, the sudden slugger hit .419 with 52 home runs, 169 RBI, 228 hits, 35 doubles, 425 total bases and a .781 slugging mark in 140 games to win the Triple Crown. His statistical record is spotty, but what is available says he hit only 82 home runs for his career.
