Biographical Information[edit]
In addition to his playing career, Pat McGee umpired a handful of major league games, one in the National League in 1876, and five in the American Association in 1882 and 1884.
Although Pat was in 59 major league games over a period of two seasons, not much is known about him. His birthdate is unknown, as are whether he batted and threw right or left-handed. He played for New York and Brooklyn teams, and died in New York, so it is likely he played amateur ball for a team in New York or Brooklyn before he came to the majors. He is mentioned in a SABR article about a game on October 7, 1874. [1]
