"Pat Hartnett is considered the star catcher of the International Association." - Sporting Life, Aug. 1, 1888
"Pat Hartnett comes very near being an ideal first baseman." - Sporting Life, Oct. 24, 1891
Pat Hartnett played one year in the majors and several in the minors.
The only other major leaguer (through 2011) with the same last name has been Gabby Hartnett. Both were from the Northeast.
After he played for the 1890 Browns he played at least one game for Mystic. He was also with St. Paul in 1890.
