Pat Dolan has won over 500 games as a college coach.

Dolan set Iowa Western Community College records for average (.483), steals (47), walks (60) and RBI (92) as a player. He was then assistant coach of Cold Spring-Rocori High School then went 54-17 in two seasons guiding Itasca Community College. He was then an assistant coach of St. Andrew's Presbyterian College (2 years) and then head coach of Belmont Abbey College (1999-2001). He then guided Dakota State University from 2002-2007. With a team that had gone 5-99 from 1999-2001, he was 15-22 in 2002 then set a school record with 33 wins in 2003. He topped that at 34-16 in both 2005 and 2006 then was 39-12 in 2007, when Dakota State made the NAIA top 10 for the first time.

Dolan moved to St. Cloud State University for 2008 and was 27-23-1 his first campaign then set school records for wins three straight years: 36-18 in 2009, 41-17 in 2010 and 43-11 in 2011.
