Biographical Information[edit]
Otis Thornton was a catcher who spent a number of years in the Houston Astros organization. His only major league experience came on July 6, 1973, as he played for the Astros in both ends of a doubleheader against the Montreal Expos at Jarry Park.
Thornton is one of the very few people to have a one-day major league playing career that consisted of more than one game. He was also the first player in major league history whose entire major league playing career took place outside the United States.
