Biographical Information

Osmar Carrero has been a pitcher in the Cuban Serie Nacional, following in the footsteps of his father, Omar Carrero.

Osmar debuted for the Tigres de Ciego de Avila in 2006-2007 and struggled, with 9 runs, 12 hits and four walks in 6 1/3 IP. He improved to 1-0, 6.50 in 2007-2008, 4-1 with a save and a 4.54 ERA in 2008-2009 and 3-3 with a 3.21 ERA in 2009-2010. In 2010-2011, he was 1-0 with two runs in 6 1/3 IP.

Carrero became a regular member of the Ciego de Avila rotation in 2011-2012 and turned in a 8-8, 3.52 campaign. He started game two of the finals against the Industriales and was knocked out in the 5th, but his club rallied to win.
