Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Oscar Rodríguez played for 16 seasons in Cuba. His four triples for the Orientales tied for the lead in the 1981 Series Selectivas. In 1984, he tripled 12 times to lead the Series Selectivas. He hit .288/.351/.369 in 1,039 games in Cuba, with 502 runs, 272 RBI, 111 doubles, 43 triples, 32 home runs and 79 steals but was caught stealing 83 times. He fielded .959. He managed Guantánamo in 2000-2001 (43-47) and 2001-2002 (36-54).
