Biographical information[edit]

Onil Joseph was a minor league baseball player who played from 2000 to 2007 in the Atlanta Braves and Kansas City Royals organizations. He was signed as an undrafted free-agent by the Braves in 2000 and played in the Dominican Summer League in 2000 and 2001.

He played for the GCL Braves in 2002, hitting .305 with 12 stolen bases in 58 games. In 2003, he played for the Rome Braves, hitting .296 with 32 stolen bases (he was caught stealing 22 times) in 120 games. For the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in 2004, he again stole 32 bases (being caught only 10 times) and hit .272 in 113 games. He played for the Mississippi Braves in 2005, hitting .249 with a career high 121 strikeouts in 426 at-bats. In 2006, he played for both the Pelicans and Mississippi Braves, hitting a combined .279 with only 23 walks in 445 at-bats.

Joseph wound up in the Royals organization in 2007, playing for the Wichita Wranglers, with whom he hit .254 in 347 at-bats.

He played in the Dominican Winter League in 2006 and 2007.

He was outfield coach for the DSL Royals in 2009-2014 and hitting coach for the same team in 2015-2017. He was hitting coach for the DSL Royals 2 in 2018 and managed the club in 2019. He was outfield coach for the DSL Royals Blue in 2021 and DSL Royals Glass in 2022.
