Originally published by Dell in 1989, On a Clear Day, They Could See Seventh Place chronicles the misadventures of the worst team from each decade since the 1890s. Included were the 1899 Cleveland Spiders, 1904 Washington Senators, 1916 Philadelphia Athletics, 1928 Philadelphia Phillies, 1935 Boston Braves (featuring Babe Ruth and Wally Berger), 1942 Philadelphia Phillies, 1952 Pittsburgh Pirates (featuring Ralph Kiner and organized by Branch Rickey), 1962 New York Mets, 1979 Toronto Blue Jays and 1988 Baltimore Orioles (featuring Eddie Murray and Cal Ripken Jr.).
It was written by George Robinson and Charles Salzberg.
