Biographical Information[edit]

Ollie Chill was an American League umpire from 1914 to 1916 and again from 1919 to 1922. He also worked the 1921 World Series.

He had previously pitched in the Three-I League in 1895. He began umpiring in the Kitty League in 1906, then went to the Central League from 1907 to 1909, the American Association from 1910 to 1913 and again in 1917 and 1918. After leaving the American League, he went back to the A.A. from 1923 to 1926, when he was fired in July. He filed suit against league President Thomas Hickey for $200,000; the case was settled in July of 1927. In 1929, he joined the International League staff and worked there until 1931.
