Official Baseball
Official Baseball, published for two seasons (1945 and 1946) by the A.S. Barnes Company, was a successor to the Commissioner's Guide and a direct rival to The Sporting News Baseball Guide.
The 1945 edition carried statistics and standings for all major and minor leagues in both 1943 and 1944, though it was still some 20% shorter than the 1943 edition. (Due to wartime paper shortages, the Commissioner's Office had been unable to publish an official guide in 1944.) The series ended with the 1946 edition, and combined with the Commissioner's Guide, the three guides give a comprehensive picture of wartime baseball.
